South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi has come positive in the Kovid-19 investigation. He has since been ruled out of the three-match home ODI series against the Netherlands starting Friday at Centurion. The South Africa Cricket Board gave this information on Wednesday. Cricket South Africa (CSA) said in a statement that pacer Junior Dala has been included in the squad in place of Ngidi.
The CSA said, ‘Lungi Ngidi was forced to leave the tour as he has come positive in the Kovid-19 test. He is fine and following the COVID-19 protocol as per government norms of CSA. Ngidi has not played for South Africa since the Ireland series in July. He did not tour Sri Lanka due to personal reasons, was included in the squad for the T20 World Cup but did not play in a single match.
All three ODIs will be played at Centurion. The first ODI will be played on 26 November, the second ODI on 28 November and the third ODI on 1 December. This is the first time that the Netherlands will play a series against South Africa.
