The leopard killed a dog before leaving from there. According to the police, the watchman of the college informed the forest department after seeing the leopard in the campus. Fortunately, the college was closed due to the festive season and there was no one around.
According to the police, the forest department officials noticed the footprints of the leopard during the inspection of the area. According to the local people, the leopard was roaming in the area for the last few months. This area is near the forests of Madukkarai. The villagers had handed over a video of the leopard to the forest department a few days back. The forest department has promised the local people to stop the leopard from entering human areas.
Leopard fear in Lucknow too
At the same time, leopard terror is being seen in Lucknow of Uttar Pradesh these days. The leopard, which spread terror by coming to the roofs of people’s houses in Lucknow, is missing for two days. The leopard has been seen roaming in different areas of Lucknow, due to which the concern has become deeper in the minds of the people. Videos of leopards climbing people’s roofs have also come to the fore. This leopard escaped by dodging the forest department and the police team in the early hours of Sunday.
The forest department and the police team had set a trap after seeing the leopard in an empty plot surrounded by a boundary wall in Kalyanpur area, but it escaped after dodging the team at around 3 am. During this, some people have also received minor injuries due to his attack.
He told that the leopard is in a very densely populated area with many vacant plots surrounded by boundary walls. He is being searched in all of them too.
People have been appealed not to come out of their homes especially in the evening, stay in groups and do not enter any place suddenly as the leopard may be hiding. Although the leopard’s approach has not yet seemed aggressive, but still it has been advised to be very careful.
