Sultanpur has important mythological sites like Dhopap Makri Kund, Sita Kund, Bijethua. There is evidence of this fact. Kush, the junior son of Lord Rama, the beloved of all of us, made the district his capital and named it as Kushabhavanpur. Later Khilji Badshah changed the name of the district to Sultanpur for the promotion of his culture.

It remains a sensitive issue for the public. Therefore, keeping in mind the public sentiments, the name of Sultanpur of the district should be changed to Bhawanpur. On the other hand, the proposal to rename Firozabad as Chandranagar has been passed by the district panchayat here. The newly elected District Panchayat President Harshita Singh says that there was a demand for a long time from the Zilla Panchayat members and public representatives that the name of Firozabad should be changed to Chandra Nagar, this proposal has been sent to the government.
