Lucknow. The results of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections will now have an impact on the allocation of offices of political parties located in the Vidhan Bhavan. In the elections, the Congress and BSP, confined to two and one seat, can snatch the big offices allotted to them. Actually, political parties are allotted offices according to their numbers in the Vidhan Bhavan. This time many such parties have come forward, whose number is less than the MLAs of Congress and BSP, so they will be allotted a bigger office.
Assembly Special secretary of the state Brij Bhushan Dubey said that according to the rules, big offices are allotted to the party with more MLAs. Those parties whose number of MLAs are very less, the Speaker decides on them at his discretion. There is currently no rule in force regarding the minimum number.
Actually, this time 8 MLAs of Rashtriya Lok Dal have won in the election. In 2017, he had only one MLA. Hence the office was not allotted. Apart from RLD, Nishad Party with 6 MLAs will also be allotted a new office. BSP and Congress may possibly be allotted a small office by the president. Office can also be available to Jansatta Dal on the same basis. Subhasp and Apna Dal Sonelal were allotted office after the last assembly elections. It will remain intact this time also.
