Electric train will start operating between Prayagraj and Ayodhya soon.
Now the journey between Prayagraj and Ramnagari Ayodhya can be done in two hours. Right now it takes four to five hours by train. This will be possible due to electrification of the entire railway section. The Chief Safety Commissioner (CRS) has allowed the operation of trains fitted with electric locomotives by running the train at a speed of 110 km and inspecting the route.
Operation of electric trains will start very soon
It is believed that very soon the Northern Railway will start operating trains with electric locomotives between Prayagraj-Pratapgarh-Sultanpur and Ayodhya. Starting the operation of electric locomotive trains will not only save the time of the passengers but will also enable the trains to run at a faster speed. The distance between Prayagraj and Adyodhya is about 160 kms. It is believed that now this distance can be covered in just two hours.
CRS allows train operation with electric locomotive
According to Amitabh Sharma, CPRO of the Central Railway Electrification Organization (CORE), only 58 km of electrification work was left on this route from Sultanpur to Ayodhya Cantt, which has been completed by the Corps on mission mode. This route has been inspected on 28 December. The train has been run at a maximum speed of 110 kmph. After meeting all the parameters, CRS has given permission to operate the train fitted with electric engine.
MEMU can now run from Prayagraj to Ayodhya
After rail electrification, the way has been cleared to run MEMU train on this route from Prayagraj to Ayodhya. According to sources, in this financial year, Railways can operate two MEMU trains to connect these two cities. Its preparations are going on. After Prayagraj-Ayodhya, now the main focus of the core is to electrify the Ayodhya to Barabanki rail route by March 2022. After this, it will be possible to operate trains fitted with electric locomotives from Ayodhya to Lucknow and Delhi.
