Noida. A test blast was carried out on Sunday afternoon to demolish the illegal twin towers (two multi-storeyed buildings) built at Supertech Emerald Court located in Sector 93-A of Noida. This explosion was done with a loud bang at around 2.30 pm. During the test blast, about four kg of gunpowder was planted in six pillars on the basement and 13th floor of a tower. During the hearing on August 31 last year, the top court had ordered the demolition of two towers built in violation of laws. It will take about ten days for reports on how much vibration was caused by Sunday’s blast, how much noise pollution was caused and how much explosives would be used on the day of the last blast on 22 May.
Machines were installed at six places for vibration testing. However, officials of the South African company Jet Demolition, who were present at the scene of the blast, say that the structure of this tower is stronger than they thought. In such a situation, it will explode more than I thought. Initially 2500 to 4000 kg of explosives were estimated to be used. Rapid Action Force personnel were also deployed along with the civilian police during the blast.
Traffic continued on other roads
Officials said that machines have been installed to check the standards of PM 2.5 and 10 to detect pollution. Along with this, a machine will be installed to check the direction of the wind. The test blast took place under the supervision of officials from IIT Chennai, CBRI and Noida Authority. Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic Ganesh P Shaha said that during the test blast, only the road in front of the tower was closed for traffic, while traffic continued on the rest of the roads.
it’s hard to move on
At the same time, last month it was reported that more than 200 laborers have been employed to break the 32-storey twin tower. Edifice Agency has engaged a team of 200 workers and engineers. The help of foreign engineers is also being taken in the demolition of the Twin Tower. But unless the water in the basement dries up completely, it is difficult to proceed with the work.
