A heart-shaking case has come to light in Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh. Married woman died in Mohalla bypass of Jaitpur town. The death of the wife was not tolerated by the husband. During the funeral, husband Brijesh tried to kill his wife by jumping into the burning pyre. People present on the spot saved him. Brijesh has suffered minor burns.
On getting information about the incident, the police of the concerned police station reached the spot. The police got Brijesh treated at the hospital. Seeing this act of husband, everyone’s eyes filled with tears. The mother of the deceased has accused the in-laws of dowry death due to the rope being tied around the neck. Let us inform that Ramratan, a resident of Akauna village of Ajnar police station, had married his daughter Uma (23) in the year 2016 to Brijesh Kushwaha, resident of Jaitpur town.
Her in-laws used to beat her for demanding dowry. Uma’s body was lying on the floor in the bedroom on Thursday night and the incident is considered suspicious due to the noose of the dupatta being tied around her neck.
Tej Kunwar, mother of the deceased Uma told that a week ago her daughter was assaulted for demanding money. He called the son-in-law home and collected money from the family members and gave 70 thousand.
The husband says that the allegation of demanding dowry is baseless. Naib Tehsildar Kulpahar Pankaj Gautam recorded the statements of the family members and in his presence sent the body for post-mortem after conducting a panchnama.
The deceased has a three year old son Kamesh. After the death of the mother, the innocent child is in a bad condition. On the other hand, Kotwali in-charge Umesh Kumar says that the post-mortem report has confirmed death by hanging. The complaint has not been received yet.
