Lucknow. An important meeting has been held with the representatives of political parties of the Election Commission in Lucknow regarding the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections. In the meeting, a 13-member team of the Election Commission of India met and sought suggestions from all political parties regarding the conduct of elections. During this, everyone has talked about holding elections on time. It was said on behalf of the representatives of political parties that elections should be held in UP on time following the Kovid rules. Congress has demanded the removal of UP’s Additional Chief Secretary Home Avnish Awasthi from the election system.
The Election Commission had held talks with the Health Department officials a day earlier on the assembly elections to be held in five states regarding the possibility of the third wave of Corona and the threat of Omicon. After this a meeting was held with political parties in Lucknow. Top officials including Rajiv Kumar, Anoop Chandra Pandey, Chandra Bhushan, Nitesh Vyas, T Shrikant reached Lucknow in the team led by Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra. In the meeting held in Yojna Bhawan, representatives of other regional parties including BJP, SP, BSP and Congress gave their stand. In this, emphasis was laid on conducting elections on time.
BSP bid elections should be held on time
Bahujan Samaj Party has given a memorandum to the Chief Election Commissioner, in which it has been said that elections should be held in the state on time. Regarding the increasing cases of corona, it has also been said that the way the crowd is being mobilized through rallies and road shows, cases of corona are increasing. The whole country is shocked by this.
SP bids elections should be held with following the rules of Kovid
SP State President Naresh Uttam Patel said that the elections should be held on time and the Corona guidelines should be fully followed. List of voters above 80 years of age and voters with disabilities should be given to all parties. The list of critical booths should also be given to the political parties. He said that if the correct result is not out after voting, then voting should be done again.
SP raised questions on officials
The SP State President said that the list of officers who have put pressure on the public to mobilize the people in the public meetings of the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Chief Minister has been given to the Election Commission. This should be taken into account.
Congress said – UP elections cannot be done on the basis of police
The Congress delegation raised questions on the UP Police in front of the Election Commission. Congress said that the assembly elections in UP cannot be held on the basis of UP Police. The elections should be held under the supervision of the Central Police Force.
Demand for removal of Additional Chief Secretary Home Avnish Awasthi
Congress has also demanded the removal of UP’s Additional Chief Secretary Home Avnish Awasthi from his post. Congress said that Avnish Awasthi should be kept completely separate from the electoral system. He is misusing government office by retweeting tweets of Union ministers. The tweets made by Avneesh Awasthi on PM’s program in the inauguration program of Kashi Vishwanath Temple as well as re-tweeting on other government schemes have been glorifying the government continuously.
BJP talked about deployment of women police at booths
After meeting the Election Commission, BJP Vice President and MLC Arvind Sharma said that he has made a demand that the appointment of women police at the booths should be sufficient for the safety of women. Along with conducting verification of women voters and

CPIM said – hold elections, stop rallies
It was told by the CPI-M that the elections should be held on time. In view of the increasing cases of corona, public meetings should be banned. The CPI(M) said that the ruling party is holding rallies in lakhs of people and the opponent is not even being allowed to sit together.
RLD talks about matching VVPAT
The RLD delegation met the Election Commission and presented its party’s side on the election. RLD’s national secretary Anil Dubey said that on the demand of the candidate, 50 percent VVPAT matching should be allowed.
