The waiting hours are over. The fate of 33 candidates of three assembly seats in Kannauj district will be decided today. Counting of votes will start from 8 am on Thursday at Naveen Krishi Mandi Complex on GT Road. The results of all the three seats will be out by 3 pm.

A total of 7,88,562 votes will be counted in Kannauj Sadar Surakshit, Tirwa and Chhibramau assembly constituencies.
For this, about 200 officers and employees have been given responsibility. Assistant District Election Officer Bineet Katiyar said that counting of votes would be done by placing EVMs on 14-14 tables simultaneously. The whole process will be done in 10 minutes. This involves tallying votes and paperwork.
After pressing the button in the EVM, the total votes will be published. He has to fill in the prescribed forms. After that the records will go to the RO table. From there, after matching and signing, the feed will be on the website of the Election Commission. In this the permission of the observer will also be required. If the counting of votes continues from eight in the morning, then the counting of votes will be completed by about three in the morning. If there is a break in between, the counting has to be completed by 5 pm at all costs.
