Lucknow/Gorakhpur. The voting for the sixth phase of the UP Assembly elections has been completed. However, the UP Election Commission has not yet released the official figures till the polling is over (6 pm). At the same time, 53.31 percent votes have been cast till 5 pm. During this, Ambedkar Nagar recorded the highest voter turnout of 58.50 percent. Whereas in Balrampur, voting was very slow and only 48.53 percent votes have been cast, which is the lowest in the sixth phase districts.
With this, voting has been held in 349 out of 403 seats in six phases in the proposed UP Assembly elections in seven phases. At the same time, the last phase of polling will be held on March 7. After this, the counting of votes will take place on March 10.

Among the 10 districts where voting has taken place in the sixth phase of UP elections, five are in Ambedkar Nagar, four in Balrampur, four in Siddharthnagar, five in Basti, three in Sant Kabir Nagar, five in Maharajganj, nine in Gorakhpur, seven in Kushinagar, Deoria and Seven-seven assembly seats are included in Ballia. Let us inform that in the 2017 assembly elections, out of 57 seats in this phase, 46 seats were won by the BJP and two by its allies Apna Dal (S) and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SubhSP). However, this time the SubhaSP is contesting the elections in alliance with the Samajwadi Party.
Luck of many veterans including CM Yogi locked in EVMs
Apart from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is contesting from Gorakhpur Sadar seat in the sixth phase, the luck of many veterans has stopped in EVMs. These include Swami Prasad Maurya (Fazilnagar), Lalji Verma (Katehri seat), Ramchal Rajbhar (Akbarpur seat), Yogi cabinet minister Jai Pratap Singh (Bansi seat), UP Basic Education Minister Satish Chandra Dwivedi (Etwa seat), State Congress President Ajay Kumar Lallu (Tamkuhiraj seat), Yogi cabinet minister Surya Pratap Shahi (Pathardeva seat), UP Minister of State Shriram Chauhan (Khajni) and Minister of State Jaiprakash Nishad (Rudrapur) are involved.
