The ongoing tussle among the office bearers of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association is clearly visible during the India-New Zealand match. This is happening for the first time that the directors of UPCA have kept a distance from a big match. The director is in Kanpur, but he is not visible in the stadium. The reason for this is that these directors had given an affidavit in the court to the BCCI saying that they have no interference in the UPCA. Now if he is seen in the Governor’s Pavilion of the stadium, then it will be considered as contempt of court.
During the match, the chairs in the Governor’s Pavilion were seen empty.
Director forced to go behind the scenes after a complaint
The investors of UPCA themselves have given in writing to the Registrar of Companies (ROC) that the Apex Committee of the institution implements all the decisions. There is no interference by the investors in any way. This is happening for the first time, when an international match has been started in a very shoddy manner. In the Governor’s Pavilion, the match was started only by doing khaapurti, otherwise there was no scope to even set foot in this pavilion.
Not only the directors of UPCA, but only the Apex Committee has the power,
It has been given in writing by the UPCA to the Mumbai High Court and the BCCI that the Board of Directors does not take any decision. The Apex Committee of UPCA has all the power to take decisions. It is clear in the Memorandum of UPCA that the Board of Directors cannot play an active role in any way.
The complainant made the basis of the rule
The complainant, Aligarh District Cricket Association secretary Pradeep Singh told that the UPCA director was continuously violating the rules. The complaint was filed with the Register of Companies to the Mumbai High Court and the BCCI. After that the Board of Directors has given an affidavit in writing to the above three institutions that they are not playing any active role in any way. This is the reason that in the international match between India and New Zealand, this time no director is visible at Greenpark Stadium.
