Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association
The Virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM) has been convened to ensure that there is no ruckus in the general meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA). The opposition lobby of UPCA is opposing this virtual AGM. For the last 42 years, elections have not been held in the Sangh. Whoever was in possession took over and made the UPCA his fiefdom. For the first time, voices of protest are being heard. The matter regarding the election is pending for hearing in the High Court. Hearing in this matter has been fixed for January 6. In such a situation, the occupied faction can also conduct elections in the virtual AGM.
AGM is being called keeping the rules in mind
This AGM, which has been pending for several months, is going virtual. The main reason behind this is being told the ongoing dispute in the Sangh. It is alleged that the work of imposing posts in UPCA is being done for the last several years. Since last year, apart from some members of the Apex Committee of the Sangh, smaller district associations have started opposing it and demanding elections. It is common that for many years in the UPCA, a well-known journalist turned Congress leader, the former secretary and his representatives have not allowed the annual elections to be held. Due to the ongoing disputes in the union, the matter has reached the High Court.
UPCA expelled from BCCI for not accepting memorandum
The UPCA was also left out of the BCCI list for the first time this year. This time, the Sangh had to push the eddy peak even to organize the AGM. AGM of the state union is proposed on December 30, but there is no mention of holding elections in its agenda. Many questions are being raised in this AGM of the Sangh. To ensure that everything goes according to plan, on 28th December, the former secretary has come to Lucknow and met the supporters faction and the strategy ahead has also been understood.
Virtual AGM convened for arbitrariness
The lobby occupying the virtual AGM of UPCA will be arbitrary. This allegation has been made by UPCA member Manoj Pundhir. He has said that one of the reasons behind making the AGM of the Sangh virtual can also be that it can fulfill its agenda. It may also happen that those who oppose are made offline and decisions should be made to show the supporters to be in their favor. He warned that if elections are held in virtual AGM, then it will not be acceptable.
