Mayor will inaugurate
Actually, the name of Deepawali fair has been changed to ‘Vikas Deepotsav’. Such a fair is being organized all over the state. Municipal Commissioner Avinash Singh said that its preparations have almost been completed. Mayor Sitaram Jaiswal will inaugurate Vikas Deepotsav. While Municipal MLA Dr. Radha Mohan Das Agarwal and Rural MLA Vipin Singh will also be present.
Fair will be held in Municipal Corporation premises till November 4
‘Vikas Deepotsav’ is now being organized in the Municipal Corporation premises from 28 October to 4 November instead of Diwali Mela. Stalls of products related to terracotta and readymade garments included in One District One Product (ODOP) will be set up in the fair.
Cultural evening will also be organized
Along with this, stalls will be provided for locally prepared earthen lamps, idols of Lakshmi-Ganesh, cow dung lamps and statues, various products prepared by self-help groups. Cultural evening will be organized in the evening during Deepawali fair. In this, from Comedy Kavi Sammelan to Bhajan Sandhya, puppet magic show, folk songs/folk dance and street plays will also be organized.
Preparing to promote local products
Local products will be promoted in the Diwali fair. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who came to inaugurate the international airport in Kushinagar, appealed to buy local products in Diwali. A platform will be provided to the craftsmen through this fair to promote local products. This program was preparing to be organized in the Kachari club, but already cracker shops are being set up there, due to which preparations are going on to organize this fair in the Municipal Corporation premises itself.
