Loss of house, waiting for compensation
Crores of rupees have been spent on another drinking water scheme, but the work of spending 50 rupees is not being done, which is a big deal in itself. Khare’s house has been damaged due to the breakdown of the pipeline. Now the machinery, which is responsible for the 44 village water supply scheme, should compensate them. Still they are not getting compensation.
The pipeline of this scheme has gone at some distance from our house, due to which the wall of the house has collapsed. The water in the house has caused extensive damage. We have become homeless. In the meantime, 12 thousand rupees were taken as compensation from us for the push of the pipeline. Now we also need compensation. – (Nilesh Khaire, Victim Citizen, Harsul).
Those whose houses have been damaged due to the breakdown of the pipeline are demanding compensation. But we have no such provision. Earlier, compensation was recovered for damage caused by them to the pipeline. I have no knowledge about this. Pipeline repair work will be done after the beneficiary villages deposit the money. – (Pramod Jadhav, Branch Engineer, 44 Village Water Supply Scheme).
