In Agra, people suffering from heat in 46.4 degree Celsius temperature had to worry for water on Saturday. Water supply from Surya Nagar and Sanjay Place pumping stations remained stalled from Saturday morning till evening. Due to this there was no water supply in 13 areas including Sanjay Place. Due to the repair of broken sewer and water lines on MG Road, the water supply department had informed to stop the morning supply, but due to non-completion of repair work, the water supply remained closed in the evening.
Bagh Muzaffar Khan, Surya Nagar, Khandari, Near Bhadawar House, Swadeshi Bima Nagar, Bagh Farzana, Delhi Gate, Kale Ka Tal, Ramnagar, Wazirpura, Ghatiya Azam Khan, Vijay Nagar Colony, Gandhi Nagar and Sanjay Place are more than 40 thousand of the area. Many people could not get water. Jalkal officials have claimed that water supply has been restored on Sunday morning.
Delhi Gate Councilor Sanjay Rai said that even on Friday evening, water had not reached many places. By saying Saturday morning, water was not given even in the evening. If valves are installed on these lines, then not many people will have to worry.
cooler remained dry
Rakesh Verma of Ghatiya Azam Khan said that the coolers are dry in such heat. There is a need to fill water thrice a day, but the water did not come. So how to run the cooler? The heat is worse.
Claim to start supply today
Jalkal Executive Engineer VB Singh said that the repair work on MG Road could not be completed, due to which the supply could not be started even in the evening. The repair work would have been in vain as soon as the water was filled in the pit, so after the sewer line work is settled, the supply will be started on Sunday morning.
Line leaked at two places in Maharshipuram
The water line leaked from two places in Maharshipuram, a colony built behind Gurudwara Guru’s Tal. Water was wasted for two days due to leaking of water line near Shivshakti temple, while the colony near it got waterlogged due to line leakage. In Maharshipuram, due to the leakage, dirty water reached many houses, while the supply was affected in the houses next to the leakage. Regional resident Neetu Singh said that water is getting wasted on the road, but it is not reaching the houses. SK Srivastava, secretary of the water department, said that the leakage would be stopped by sending a team.
When water was found from the tap in Rajnagar, happiness returned
People’s happiness knew no bounds when water reached from the tap in Rajnagar area of Lohamandi on Saturday. Amar Ujala raised the water problem of Rajnagar, after which the water department laid a new water line on the proposal of councilor Bunty Mahour. When the supply started from Saturday after the testing, tears of joy came out of the eyes of the people after getting the Ganges water. He welcomed the councilor with garlands of flowers. Regional resident Dharam Singh told that till now life has gone out by filling water with hand pump and submersible pump, for the first time water has been found in the house from the tap.
