Kannauj/ Kanpur: The troubles of Kannauj’s perfume trader and Samajwadi Party’s MLC Pushpraj Jain are not taking the name of lessening. Despite the sudden detention of Pushpraj Jain aka Pumpi Jain on Monday, raids are going on at his house and factories in Kannauj (Kannauj IT Raid). Today i.e. on the fifth day the raids are going on at Pushpraj Jain’s house. At present, Pushpraj Jain is in his Kannauj house. The IT team came to Kannauj with Pushpraj Jain from Kanpur late on Monday night. There was a little stir in Chhippatti Mohalla of Kannauj when Pushpraj Jain reached his Kannauj house late at around 1.30 pm.
If sources are to be believed, the Income Tax team had gone to Kanpur after taking Pushraj Jain into custody, where he was also interrogated. However, on Monday itself Pushpraj Jain was brought to Kannauj. For the time being, the raids will continue at the house of the perfume trader. Today Tuesday will be the fifth day of the raid. An IT inspector and four other members are still present at Pushpraj Jain’s house. Earlier, Atul Jain, younger brother of Pumpi Jain, was taken by the Income Tax Department to the factory in Kanpur. It is believed that the Income Tax Department team in Kanpur has confronted Pushpraj Jain and younger brother Atul Jain.
Actually, the team of Income Tax Department in Kannauj is busy collecting solid evidence from Pushpjain’s house. The team of Income Tax Department suspects tax evasion of about Rs 150 crore, in connection with which it is trying to collect Sabooj. This is the reason that on December 31, 2021, Income Tax Department officials raided other places of the country including Mumbai, Gujarat, Kanpur, Lucknow and Kannauj. At present, no information has come to the fore regarding the recovery of Pushpraj Jain.
Let us inform that Pushpraj Jain has been raided after tightening the noose on perfume businessman Piyush Jain. Firstly, raids were conducted in the houses of Piyush Jain from Kanpur to Kannauj and the DGGI team recovered about Rs 197 crore in cash and 23 kg of gold. Pushpraj Jain’s name was cropping up during the action against Pishuy Jain. It was only after Piyush Jain was arrested that Pushpraj Jain has also come on the radar of Income Tax Department and his house in Kannauj was raided. Let us tell you that Pushpraj Jain is the MLC of the Samajwadi Party and he was the one who launched the Samajwadi perfume.

Pushpraj Jain was elected as MLC from Etawah-Farrukhabad in 2016. He is the co-owner of Pragati Aroma Oil Distillers Pvt Ltd. In the recent times, the socialist perfume, which was gathering discussion in the politics of UP, was made by his company. His business was started by his father Savailal Jain in 1950. Pushpraj and his three brothers run a business in Kannauj and live in the same house. MLC Pushparaj has a house and an office in Mumbai, from where it deals with exports to around 12 countries mainly in the Middle East. Two of his three brothers work in the Mumbai office, while the third one works with him on a manufacturing set-up in Kannauj.
