Delhi-Meerut RRTS at a Glance
Here is the route of the train: The train will run both above and below the ground on the 82 km long route. elevated route 68.03 kms, while underground route 14.12 kms will remain. Routes in densely populated Meerut and Delhi will remain underground. There will be two depots for this- Duhai and Modipuram,
station : Sarai Kale Khan, New Ashok Nagar, Anand Vihar, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Muradnagar, Modi Nagar South, Modinagar North, Meerut South, Shatabdi Nagar, Begumpul and Modipuram 8 stations connected to local transit service in Meerut Partapur, Rithani, Brahmapuri, Meerut Central, Bhainsali, MES Colony, Darauli and Meerut North are being built. The 4 stations connected with RRTS will be Meerut South, Shatabdi Nagar, Begumpul and Modipuram.

Project funding: Many agencies are associated with the construction of Delhi-Meerut RRTS. ADB has funded $ 1 billion, NDB and AIIB $ 500 million for this project. At the same time, the Government of India has given 20 percent amount for the project, while the Delhi government has contributed 3.22% and the UP government has contributed 16.78 percent.
Train will run at a speed of 180 km
The entire route of Delhi-Meerut High Speed Rail Corridor has been designed according to the maximum speed of 180 kmph. The average speed of the train on this track will be 100 km per hour. This corridor will start from Sarai Kale Khan station in Delhi. It will reach Modipuram in Meerut via Delhi and Ghaziabad. Hazrat Nizamuddin, Sarai Kale Khan will become transit hub due to Hazrat Nizamuddin Metro Station, Sarai Kale Khan ISBT and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station.
Meerut South Section from 2023
The South section of Meerut including Duhai depot is expected to be commissioned from January 2023. At the same time, Hazrat Nizamuddin-Sahibabad of 16.60 km will start by January 2024. After this the remaining 37.40 km track from Meerut South to Modipuram will be completed by July 2024. More than ten thousand laborers are working in this project. Also more than 1100 engineers are connected.
Local transport will get a boost
The RRTS station will be connected to different modes of transport, including airport, railway station, inter state bus terminal and Delhi metro station. According to the news, after the arrival of this transport system, the use of local transport will be reduced from 37 percent to 67 percent. All RRTS stations will have platform screen doors. According to estimates, after the start of this service, one lakh vehicles will not come on the roads every day, which will end the problem of jam. Also there will be no pollution. This will prove to be a new lifeline for Meerut and Delhi NCR.
