On the basis of the information of the parents, a team of police and forensic experts of Lanka police station reached the spot. The family members say that the husband killed Saraswati Devi for refusing to drink alcohol. Saraswati Devi lived with her husband Rajgir Ajit Rajbhar, a daughter and two sons in Nuaon Tadia village under Lanka police station. Saraswati Devi and Ajit of Todarpur village under Rohaniya police station were married in the year 2006. Saraswati Devi’s father Chhotelal Rajbhar told that when he was going for a wedding ceremony on Thursday evening, he had also come to his daughter’s house. After attending the wedding, he went to his sister’s house, living in a neighboring village, at night to take rest.

Chhotelal told that after midnight on Thursday, Ajit called him and told that Saraswati had hanged himself. When he reached his daughter’s home, he saw that preparations were being made for her funeral. He told that his daughter’s head was bleeding. Her son-in-law has strangled her to death after thrashing her daughter. Ajit’s cousin Sunil was also involved in the preparations for the funeral of Saraswati’s body. On the other hand, Ajit said that his wife had hanged herself. He had brought her down from the noose to save her, but by then she was already dead.
In this regard, Lanka Inspector Ved Prakash Rai said that the cause of death will be clear from the post-mortem report. The body is being sent for post-mortem. After registering a case on the basis of post-mortem report and Tahrir, further action will be taken in the case.
