New Delhi. If any building is most expensive in the country, then it is the Taj Mahal, the symbol of love. But, despite this, the Taj Mahal is also the building that gives the highest income by selling tickets across the country. Not only the country but foreign tourists also come here in large numbers. The number of tourists of both types remains around 60 lakhs throughout the year. If the tickets for the Taj Museum are also included, then in a year more than Rs 100 crore tickets are sold at the Taj Mahal alone. In today’s time, foreigners are getting Rs 1300 for the Taj and Indian tourists are getting Rs 250. But the ticket getting expensive is not having any effect on the fans of Taj. Rather, the number of tourists is increasing year after year.
Know who has to take tickets for how much at the Taj Mahal
According to the website of ASI, Agra Circle, foreign tourists have to take a ticket of 11 hundred rupees to enter the Taj Mahal. After reaching inside, to go up to the main tomb, a ticket of Rs 200 will have to be taken separately. In this way, a foreign tourist has to spend about 1300 rupees for the sight of the Taj. For tourists coming from SAARC countries, an entry of Rs 500 and a ticket of Rs 200 is charged for the main tomb.
Tickets worth more than 100 crores sold on Taj Mahal in a year
Agra’s Taj Mahal is at number one in terms of ticket sales. If we leave out the time of Corona, then in the year 2019-20, tickets worth Rs 97.11 crore were sold. Tickets for the museum built in the Taj complex were sold for about Rs 9 crore. Whereas in 2018-19 this figure of Taj was Rs 78 crore. Talking about the arrival of foreign tourists, 8 to 9 lakh and 40 to 45 lakh Indian tourists come to see the Taj Mahal.
13.71 crore more came even after these hurdles
In the last year 2019 and in the current year, many such works took place across the country, due to which other countries issued travel advisories for the tourists of their country. Due to which the number of foreign tourists from time to time was greatly affected. Lok Sabha elections were held in 2019.
Removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. Supreme Court’s decision on Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid dispute. The CAA-NRC protests went on. Violence took place in Delhi. Not only this, from January, the whole world came in panic about Corona. A building like the Taj Mahal was also locked.
